Scope & Referral Boundaries
Mythic Life Coaching™

Scope Is Trust Language
Meaningful coaching can touch important parts of a person’s life.
Business decisions may involve:
money,
identity,
confidence,
personal history,
visibility,
professional reputation,
spirituality,
values,
relationships,
stress,
health-adjacent concerns,
and major life choices.
That does not mean one coach should attempt to become every kind of professional the client may need.
At Mythic Life Coaching, clear scope is part of ethical service.
This page explains:
what Mythic Life Coaching provides;
what it does not provide;
where professional boundaries become important;
when referral or additional qualified review may be appropriate;
and how spiritual, archetypal, psychological, business, and practical material are handled within the coaching relationship.
Our goal is not to make meaningful work smaller.
Our goal is to make the work clear enough to trust.
What Mythic Life Coaching Provides
Mythic Life Coaching provides coaching, education, spiritual-business guidance, archetype-informed reflection, and practical business-development support.
Depending on the client’s needs and current threshold, the work may include:
spiritual business coaching;
business strategy;
readiness and threshold reflection;
Personal Mythic Journey™ work;
Business Hero’s Journey™ implementation;
archetype-informed coaching;
offer development;
audience and problem clarification;
positioning and messaging;
pricing strategy;
ethical sales;
client journey design;
onboarding and delivery systems;
business boundaries and scope development;
evidence and proof planning;
business operations;
capacity planning;
leadership;
intellectual-property strategy;
legacy and succession thinking;
values and conscience reflection;
spiritual meaning and vocation;
behavioral-pattern observation;
body-based awareness used within coaching scope;
and practical decision-making.
The work is educational, developmental, strategic, reflective, and implementation-oriented.
It is designed to help clients make clearer decisions and build stronger business artifacts.
What Mythic Life Coaching Does Not Provide
Mythic Life Coaching does not become another profession merely because that profession becomes relevant to a client’s business or life.
Unless services are expressly provided under a separate, appropriately qualified professional role, Mythic Life Coaching does not provide:
Medical Care
We do not diagnose disease, prescribe or manage medication, provide medical treatment, or replace appropriately qualified healthcare.
Psychotherapy or Mental-Health Treatment
We do not provide psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, mental-health diagnosis, trauma treatment, or clinical crisis care through the Mythic Life Coaching relationship.
Legal Advice
We do not provide legal opinions, interpret law for a client’s individual situation, draft legally operative documents as a substitute for counsel, or determine legal compliance.
Tax or Accounting Advice
We do not determine tax liability, prepare tax strategy as a qualified tax professional, perform accounting, or make jurisdiction-specific tax determinations.
Investment or Regulated Financial Advice
We do not recommend securities, investments, regulated financial products, or personalized investment strategies.
Insurance Advice
We may identify insurance as a business-risk consideration, but the appropriate coverage should be reviewed with a qualified insurance professional.
Religious Authority
We do not claim authority to tell a client what God, Spirit, a religious tradition, or another sacred authority requires of them.
Guaranteed Business Outcomes
We do not guarantee revenue, profit, clients, market demand, business survival, investment return, or any specific commercial outcome.
Coaching Is Not Therapy
Coaching and therapy can sometimes discuss similar human experiences.
Both may involve conversations about:
fear,
beliefs,
identity,
stress,
boundaries,
relationships,
habits,
self-perception,
personal history,
or patterns of behavior.
The purpose and professional role are different.
Mythic Life Coaching uses these topics only insofar as they help the client understand:
their present choices;
their business behavior;
their readiness;
their boundaries;
their patterns;
their capacity;
their service;
or the next appropriate action.
The coaching relationship does not become psychotherapy because emotionally meaningful material appears.
If the client’s need becomes primarily:
clinical,
diagnostic,
trauma-treatment focused,
crisis-oriented,
or otherwise beyond coaching scope,
appropriate referral or additional qualified support may be recommended.
Referral does not mean the client’s experience is unwelcome.
It means the experience deserves the right kind of support.
Psychological Awareness Without Psychological Diagnosis
Mythic Life may use psychology-informed language or observations.
For example, coaching may explore:
perfectionism;
avoidance;
overgiving;
rescue patterns;
fear of visibility;
difficulty making decisions;
authority patterns;
money beliefs;
shame;
refusal;
self-protective behavior;
or recurring business distortions.
These observations are used as coaching lenses.
They are not presented as clinical diagnosis.
We do not use archetype, coaching observation, questionnaires, or business behavior to diagnose:
mental disorders;
personality disorders;
trauma disorders;
neurodevelopmental conditions;
or other clinical conditions.
Where diagnostic or therapeutic evaluation would be important, another appropriately qualified professional belongs in that role.
Body-Based Awareness Without Medical Claims
A client’s body may provide useful information during coaching.
A person may notice:
tension;
fatigue;
activation;
avoidance;
ease;
stress;
breathing changes;
felt resistance;
or other embodied responses when discussing business decisions.
These observations may be used as reflective information.
They are not medical findings.
A body-based observation does not establish:
a diagnosis;
a disease process;
a trauma diagnosis;
a neurological conclusion;
or a medical treatment plan.
Physical symptoms or health concerns that require evaluation belong with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Spiritual Reflection Without Spiritual Control
Spirituality can be an important part of Mythic Life Coaching.
Clients may want to discuss:
calling;
faith;
meaning;
conscience;
purpose;
service;
sacred responsibility;
spiritual practice;
the Divine;
intuition;
or the relationship between spirituality and work.
Those conversations may be welcomed.
But spiritual meaning does not give the coach unlimited authority.
We will not knowingly tell a client:
what God has commanded them to do;
that a business decision is spiritually required;
that a purchase proves spiritual commitment;
that refusing a recommendation violates their destiny;
or that an archetypal or intuitive interpretation overrides their own judgment.
Spiritual reflection should support discernment.
It should not confiscate it.
Archetype Is a Coaching Lens, Not a Diagnosis
Mythic Life Coaching may use the Archetypal Sphere™, Business Elemental Influence, or other archetype-informed tools.
These tools can help clients notice patterns involving:
decision-making;
offer design;
visibility;
money;
leadership;
sales;
delivery;
business structure;
strengths;
shadow patterns;
and likely distortions.
They are interpretive frameworks.
They do not establish:
medical facts;
psychological diagnoses;
legal status;
spiritual destiny;
moral superiority;
or fixed identity.
An archetype may help explain how a client tends to approach a threshold.
It does not remove the need for:
evidence;
market testing;
appropriate scope;
professional advice;
or responsible decisions.
Archetype is a mirror, not a verdict.
Readiness and Threshold Placement Are Not Diagnoses
Mythic Life may help clients distinguish among different developmental or business thresholds, including:
Personal Mythic Journey™;
Threshold Testing;
Offer Clarity;
Business Hero’s Journey™ implementation;
or Return-stage business strengthening.
Placement is intended to answer:
“What kind of work appears most appropriate next?”
It does not answer:
“How evolved am I?”
or:
“What is my spiritual rank?”
A client placed into Personal Mythic Journey work is not being declared inferior or incapable.
A client placed into Business Hero’s Journey work is not being declared spiritually advanced.
Readiness is contextual.
Business Coaching Without Borrowed Professional Authority
Business coaching may involve conversations about areas that also have legal, accounting, tax, financial, employment, privacy, or regulatory consequences.
Mythic Life Coaching may help a client:
recognize that an issue exists;
identify questions that need professional review;
organize information;
create a checklist;
clarify the business decision;
build a draft business artifact;
or prepare for a conversation with a qualified professional.
We do not pretend that recognizing the issue makes us the licensed or regulated professional responsible for resolving it.
A useful coaching statement may be:
“This is an important business question, but the final legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical, or regulatory determination belongs with a qualified professional.”
Professional humility is not weakness.
It is part of trustworthy business practice.
Health and Wellness Businesses Require Extra Precision
Some Mythic Life clients may work in:
holistic health;
complementary wellness;
coaching;
healing-centered practices;
energy work;
spiritual care;
or other health-adjacent fields.
These businesses often carry increased responsibility because clients may interpret language very seriously.
Business coaching can help such practitioners think through:
positioning;
offers;
business models;
buyer language;
pricing;
scope;
client-fit criteria;
referral systems;
claims;
marketing;
and service boundaries.
But Mythic Life Coaching does not determine whether a client’s health claim, professional activity, credential, title, treatment language, or scope is lawful in a particular jurisdiction.
When the stakes require it, qualified professional or legal review belongs in the business plan.
Money and Business Claims Require Precision
We may help clients think through:
revenue models;
pricing;
unit economics;
cash flow;
business targets;
capacity;
sales;
profitability;
or financial scenarios.
These are business-education and strategic discussions.
They are not guarantees.
We do not promise:
a particular income;
a specific revenue level;
investment performance;
tax savings;
business survival;
or a fixed return on coaching.
If a question requires individualized:
investment advice;
tax advice;
accounting treatment;
debt advice;
financial planning;
or regulated financial services,
the client should seek a qualified professional in that field.
Legal Questions Require Legal Review
Business coaching frequently identifies legal questions.
Examples may involve:
contracts;
entity formation;
intellectual property;
employment;
independent contractors;
privacy;
disclaimers;
consumer protection;
refund terms;
health claims;
licensing;
insurance;
or regulatory requirements.
Mythic Life Coaching may help the client identify and organize such questions.
We do not substitute coaching for legal counsel.
When the decision carries legal consequence, the appropriate next step may be:
professional legal review before action.
Privacy and Data Are Part of Scope
Modern businesses collect and process information through:
forms;
email;
scheduling systems;
video platforms;
payment processors;
websites;
analytics;
customer-management tools;
cloud storage;
recordings;
notes;
and AI-assisted systems.
Business coaching may help clients recognize privacy and data-risk questions.
But Mythic Life Coaching does not act as the client’s attorney, privacy officer, cybersecurity consultant, or regulatory compliance specialist unless separately qualified and contracted to do so.
Clients may need qualified support concerning:
privacy law;
data-security requirements;
record retention;
cybersecurity;
industry-specific confidentiality;
data processing;
or regulatory compliance.
The cleaner principle is:
collect deliberately, protect access, and seek qualified review when the sensitivity or law requires it.
Religious and Spiritual Referral Boundaries
Some questions belong primarily inside the client’s own faith community or chosen religious tradition.
A client may want guidance concerning:
doctrine;
sacraments;
religious law;
clergy responsibilities;
formal pastoral matters;
denominational requirements;
or theological obligations.
Mythic Life Coaching may discuss how the client’s beliefs affect their business or decision-making.
But when formal religious authority is required, the client may be encouraged to consult an appropriate clergy member, spiritual director, scholar, elder, or other qualified authority within their own tradition.
This protects both religious freedom and client agency.
Crisis, Safety, and Serious Distress
Mythic Life Coaching is not an emergency or crisis service.
If a situation involves:
immediate danger;
serious safety concerns;
severe psychological distress;
suspected abuse;
self-harm concerns;
urgent medical symptoms;
or another situation requiring immediate specialized intervention,
the coaching process may need to pause while appropriate emergency, medical, mental-health, legal, protective, or other qualified support is prioritized.
The role of the coach is not to improvise beyond competence simply because trust already exists.
Some moments require another kind of professional container.
Minors and Family Systems
Mythic Life Coaching’s primary public business-coaching services are designed for adults.
Work involving:
minors;
parents making decisions for children;
family systems;
guardianship;
or other situations involving dependent persons
may require additional consent, privacy, legal, safeguarding, and professional considerations.
Such situations should not be assumed to fit ordinary adult coaching terms.
If they arise, they require separate review before services proceed.
Referral Does Not Mean Rejection
Clients sometimes hear the word referral as:
“You are too much.”
“This is a problem.”
“I do not want to deal with this.”
That is not the intention.
A responsible referral says:
“This part of your situation deserves expertise or support beyond what this coaching relationship should claim to provide.”
The coaching relationship may sometimes continue alongside other professional support if doing so is appropriate, lawful, useful, and clearly bounded.
In other situations, coaching may pause or end.
The right decision depends on:
the client’s needs;
the seriousness of the issue;
the professional roles involved;
safety;
scope;
and the applicable agreement.
When Mythic Life Coaching May Recommend Referral or Additional Review
A referral or professional review may be appropriate when:
Medical or Health Issues Become Primary
Symptoms, treatment decisions, medication questions, diagnoses, or health risks require healthcare expertise.
Mental-Health Needs Exceed Coaching
The primary need becomes clinical assessment, psychotherapy, trauma treatment, crisis intervention, or another mental-health service.
Legal Consequences Are Material
The client needs an individualized legal determination or legal document.
Tax or Accounting Consequences Are Material
The client requires professional tax, accounting, or bookkeeping judgment.
Investment or Financial Advice Is Required
The question involves regulated investment, financial-planning, securities, or similar professional advice.
Religious Authority Is Required
The client needs an authoritative answer within a particular faith tradition.
The Client’s Requested Outcome Is Outside the Offer
The client is asking the engagement to accomplish something it was not designed or qualified to do.
Business Claims Need Qualified Review
A client’s marketing or offer touches sensitive health, legal, financial, regulated, or professional claims.
Privacy, Employment, Insurance, or Regulatory Risk Requires Expertise
The issue moves beyond general business education into jurisdiction-specific professional determination.
Safety or Crisis Concerns Become Significant
Specialized support becomes more important than continued coaching.
Referral Is Part of the Business Hero’s Journey™
The Business Hero’s Journey™ asks a founder to turn meaningful work into a vessel that can carry real responsibility.
That requires knowing not only:
what the business can do,
but where it stops.
A strong business vessel can say:
“Yes, this belongs here.”
“No, this does not.”
and:
“This part requires someone else.”
That is not a failure of service.
It is mature service.
A founder who knows when to refer becomes more trustworthy because they no longer need to pretend that every problem should remain inside their business.
Scope and the Service-Ready Boon
A Boon Candidate becomes increasingly service-ready as it becomes:
ethical;
understandable;
bounded;
repeatable;
sustainable;
repair-capable;
and useful.
Scope is part of that maturation.
A service is not fully ready simply because the practitioner is passionate about it.
The practitioner should increasingly be able to explain:
what the service does;
what it does not do;
who it serves;
who it may not serve;
what it can reasonably aim to accomplish;
what remains uncertain;
what the client is responsible for;
what the provider is responsible for;
and when another professional belongs in the room.
The boundary helps the Boon become safe enough to return.
Scope Is Also a Sales Issue
Ethical sales begins before the buyer says yes.
A prospective client should not have to purchase an offer in order to discover its important limitations.
Where materially relevant, the sales process should clarify:
what the offer does;
what is included;
what is excluded;
who is a fit;
who is not;
what is reasonably promised;
what cannot be guaranteed;
and where another form of support may be more appropriate.
A clear boundary helps the buyer make an informed decision.
That protects agency.
[Explore Ethical Sales]
Scope Is Also an Offer-Design Issue
A strong offer does not try to contain every possible need the client may have.
It should have a defined:
audience;
problem;
promise;
path;
scope;
eligibility boundary;
completion standard;
and referral boundary.
A practitioner may be capable of doing many things.
That does not mean every capability belongs in one commercial offer.
The clean question is:
“What can responsibly become service here?”
[Explore Offer Clarity]
Scope Is Also a Soul-in-Business™ Issue
Scope sits directly inside the Mythic Life ethical framework.
Truth
Do not claim professional authority you do not hold.
Fair Exchange
Do not charge for an outcome you cannot responsibly provide.
Dignity
Do not keep someone in your offer simply because referring them would reduce revenue.
Agency
Give the client enough information to understand the limits of the work.
Scope
Stay within the professional, ethical, legal, and spiritual lane you can responsibly hold.
Repair Capacity
Know what happens when the original scope proves insufficient or inappropriate.
Service Orientation
Choose what best serves the client, even when the correct choice is another professional.
[Explore Soul-in-Business]
What Happens If a Scope Issue Appears During Coaching?
Scope questions do not always appear during intake.
Sometimes they emerge later.
If a significant scope concern develops, possible next steps may include:
clarifying the boundary;
adjusting the coaching focus;
removing an inappropriate objective;
documenting the concern;
recommending qualified professional review;
coordinating roles where appropriate and authorized;
pausing coaching;
or ending the engagement under the applicable agreement.
The response should be proportionate to the issue.
The purpose is not to create unnecessary alarm.
The purpose is to protect:
the client;
the practitioner;
the promise;
and the integrity of the work.
What Mythic Life Coaching Can Still Do When Another Professional Is Needed
Referral does not always mean that every part of the coaching relationship must stop.
For example, a client may consult:
an attorney about a contract
while continuing business strategy work;
an accountant about tax treatment
while continuing offer or pricing work;
a healthcare professional about symptoms
while continuing appropriate business coaching;
or a therapist about a mental-health concern
while continuing clearly bounded professional-development work.
Where appropriate, each professional remains responsible for their own role.
Mythic Life does not attempt to supervise or override another professional’s specialized judgment.
Client Responsibility
Clients also participate in maintaining appropriate scope.
We ask clients to:
provide accurate information where reasonably relevant;
ask questions when something is unclear;
seek appropriately qualified advice when necessary;
tell us when a matter may be outside coaching scope;
avoid treating coaching observations as medical, legal, financial, psychological, or religious determinations;
and make their own final decisions.
A collaborative professional relationship works best when boundaries are understood on both sides.
No Boundary Page Can Replace Individual Professional Review
This page describes the general scope and philosophy of Mythic Life Coaching.
It cannot identify every possible professional, legal, clinical, regulatory, ethical, or jurisdiction-specific issue that might arise.
The appropriate boundary in a particular situation may depend on:
the client’s location;
the provider’s location;
the type of business;
the services involved;
professional licensure;
the claims being made;
the people affected;
applicable law;
insurance;
contracts;
industry rules;
or other facts.
When the stakes require expertise, the correct answer may be:
“This needs qualified review before you act.”
That sentence is not avoidance.
Sometimes it is the most responsible advice a coach can give.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mythic Life Coaching therapy?
No.
Mythic Life Coaching provides coaching, education, spiritual-business guidance, archetype-informed reflection, and business-development support.
It may discuss psychologically meaningful material, but it is not psychotherapy, mental-health diagnosis, trauma treatment, or crisis care.
Can you advise me about my medical condition?
Not through Mythic Life Coaching.
Health concerns requiring diagnosis, treatment, medication decisions, or medical evaluation belong with appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.
Can you tell me whether my business is legally compliant?
We can help identify issues or questions that may need attention.
We do not replace an attorney or qualified compliance professional for individualized legal determinations.
Can you help me with pricing and money?
Yes, within business-coaching scope.
We may discuss pricing strategy, business economics, revenue models, cost structure, capacity, cash-flow thinking, and fair exchange.
We do not provide personalized investment advice, regulated financial planning, tax determinations, or accounting services through the coaching relationship.
Can spiritual guidance be part of the work?
Yes, when the client wants spiritual language included.
The work remains interfaith and non-coercive.
Mythic Life does not claim authority over the client’s beliefs, destiny, relationship with God, or religious obligations.
Does an archetype result tell me what business I should build?
No.
Archetype can reveal patterns, strengths, distortions, tendencies, and useful questions.
It does not replace business evidence, market research, professional qualifications, scope, client demand, or your own judgment.
Will you refer me to another professional if necessary?
We may recommend that another qualified professional be consulted when a matter appears beyond our role, competence, or appropriate scope.
The exact professional needed depends on the situation.
If I am referred elsewhere, does that mean coaching must end?
Not necessarily.
Sometimes another professional can address one part of the situation while coaching continues in a clearly bounded area.
Other situations may require the coaching engagement to pause or end.
Do you guarantee business results?
No.
We do not guarantee income, profit, clients, market demand, business survival, or another specific commercial outcome.
The coaching process helps improve the clarity, ethics, evidence, and implementation quality of business decisions.
The Boundary That Keeps the Work Clean
Meaningful work deserves depth.
It also deserves limits.
We believe a trustworthy practitioner should be able to say:
This is what I do.
This is what I do not do.
This is where my authority ends.
This is when another professional belongs in the room.
This is how I will protect your ability to choose.
And this is how we will respond if the work crosses a boundary it should not cross.
That is not smaller service.
That is service strong enough to be trusted.
